B is continuing to chronicle the adventures of flying, or in this case, not flying. When last we left our intrepid travelers, it was the Monday morning after a late night roadtrip.
We were fortunate to find an honest mechanic who was able, within a day, to have a new starter ordered and on the plane by Tuesday. However, Tuesday was off the table for another car ride.
So on Wednesday, we got another car, the illustrious and sparkly BMW 740i, and headed back to the plane. While the handling was crappy, the car was comfy and floated over potholes and through construction like a magic carpet.
My job was to point out when we were doing 140 MPH near state police headquarters (I cannot confirm or deny that it ever happened), get drinks and snacks out of the cooler that B put together, and navigate.
The car got great mileage and had a large gas tank so stops were minimal and quick.
The playlist was awesome so down the road we went.
ETA: Here’s B’s take on the car itself.
