   My wife bought a new washing machine, 6 weeks later it stopped, guy showed up & hooked a laptop to it, it needed an update that was not covered by warrant, $125. Sold it & got a very simple industrial one.

      A friend had a custom house built. It came with an overly fancy oven. Trick was the oven wouldn’t turn off. You had to flip the breaker. Software update later …

      Yeah, I want my appliances as stupid as possible.
