Governor Holcomb vetoed several bills this term. One of them, the bill to keep boys who ‘identify’ as girls out of girls’ sports had his veto overridden. As a note, it does not keep girls out of boys’ sports.
His reasoning for the veto was straw-argument at best: that there is no existing problem that would be addressed by the legislation and that the state is going to get sued.
I still think that he was under pressure from the NCAA, based in Indianapolis.
One Republican senator, Ed Charbonneu, voted no with the Dems on the override.
