Invalidating the study

Apparently the CDC’s new mask flip flop was based on a study of covid cases in Provincetown, MA.  For those of you who don’t know, P-Town is THE place for gays and lesbians to get their groove back.  There’s more sex going on than at South Padre Island during spring break most weekends.

But ‘Bear Week‘ happened this year from July 10 – July 18, 2021, the dates of the study (the link goes to last year’s which was canceled, but you can get an idea).  It’s a sex mecca for gay men from around the world.

There’s a LOT of close physical contact.  The CDC’s sample was 85% men.  Only a few were hospitalized and none died.

But one needs to wonder, did the CDC deliberately choose this group for their study, hoping that this wouldn’t be noticed?  Were they too PC to mention that the group contained a lot of folks having sex?  Did they choose this group on purpose due to the circumstances because they knew it would meet their meme?

In any case, not taking these extraordinary circumstances into account creates a flaw in this study that invalidates their masking response.
