  • Fun Movie Friday–Love at First Bite

Starring George Hamilton as Dracula.  With Artie Johnson as Renfield.  The precursor to Airplane! The Naked Gun movies and really many of the spoof films.   Continue reading

  • Will Thomas Fail

Will Thomas (aka Lia Thomas) the college swimmer who used his superior musculature combined with the stupidity of college administrators to take home trophies he didn’t deserve, has finally been denied.  He had taken World Aquatics to court (I’m still flabbergasted that there is a sports court) after they changed the rules to actually make… Continue reading

The World Health Organization has ‘confirmed’ via lab tests, that the death of a dude in Mexico was due to bird flu. Except… Mexican Health Secretary Jorge Alcocer on Thursday denied an announcement by the World Health Organization (WHO) that a man’s death in Mexico was caused by a strain of bird flu that had… Continue reading

  • D-Day, Eighty years ago

Yes, this is the eightieth anniversary of the Normandy action to start retaking Europe, specifically France, from the Axis powers.  Allied troops landed on five beaches, but Omaha Beach saw the most casualties and the fiercest fighting. 13000 aircraft supported the action.   45000 troops (29000 from the US) were killed.   170,000 were wounded or missing.… Continue reading
