An older guy in WalMart found $30 on the floor and kept it. Apparently in a city where 5 officers have been fired for misuse of Flock cameras and 23 homicides, finding him was deemed a good use of police resources. They put this guy into the same category as finding the perps of aggravated assaults, shoplifting, terrorist acts and threats, and shootings.

I always figured finders/keepers was an analog to the five second rule. If you pick it up and no one says anything in five seconds, it’s yours. If you decide not to turn it in, that’s your business.

But the police referred to the person who dropped the money as a ‘victim’ instead of a dumbass. A victim would be if a guy took the money out of a pocket or purse and/or deliberately stole the cash.

He ended up giving it back, probably because of all of the bruhaha along with threats from a probable Karen threatening him with charges that the clowns that call themselves cops in this town would gladly take forward.

The Albany GA police are rightfully getting shellacked in the comments of every posting at this point. And we’re supposed to trust them with guns and Flock cameras?
