Couldn’t afford anything better?

The primary owner of the San Francisco 49s was swept up in an Ohio prostitution bust. The going rate of the East Palestine Ohio prostitute was $140 plus travel from his home base to a trailer to get it on.

Part of the sting I think is crap since they are charging him not only for disorderly conduct (soliciting a prostitute?) and ‘possession of criminal tools’ (which is his phone since that’s what he used to get the deal done). A phone as a criminal tool? The second one was dropped.

So I have to wonder, dude is pretty rich in order to own a football team. I’m pretty sure that there are other ‘outlets’ and resources that would have been a lot more discreet and risk-of-arrest avoidant.

Seriously, traveling halfway across the country to get it on in a trailer in Ohio? So weird.

  1. I saw that too and that was my first thought. Thing is, I remember other cases where someone filthy rich was caught picking up what were basically street hoes. I mean, damn. Fly to Vegas, go to Bunny Ranch, you got the money. It’s even legal there.

Same with extremely rich people caught DUI. Again, damn. Hire a effing driver. You got the money.

Some people are just too stupid to be rich and here I am pinching pennies and eating leftovers.

    1. I used to live in Vegas; prostitution isn’t legal there. 65 miles north is Pahrump, NV in Nye County where it is legal.

To be fair, he’s been listening to a lot of Lou Reed/Velvet Underground lately… Take a walk on the wild side, and the colored girls sing, dah do dah do do do do do do…

  3. Apparently he was here in Ohio for something other than soliciting. That was just supposed to be a “side” trip for him.

I intend all of my puns.

  4. This will give trailer parks a bad name.

  5. Check your privilege.

Some people can’t just walk down to the corner and get heterosexual sex for the price of a bottle of wine.

Some people have to travel to the hinter-boonies to get some hetero action on-the-wild-side.

  6. The “three legged stool” need of humans springs to mind.

Humans have three needs which are:

Recognition and belonging to a group (be it Hells Angles, a regiment, a social class such as politicians, millionaires etc.)

Security – financial and not being subject to violence or property loss.

Excitement – the need for thrills and a diversion from their daily mundane existence.

All three must be in a more or less balance for mental health. For example, people in Ukraine are getting more then enough excitement and that is out of balance so security and stability is craved. You would not make money with a scary roller coaster in Ukraine at the moment.

Similarly, if people are living hand to mouth, then the other two aspects fall in their list of priorities.

This guy? Recognition? He’s got it in wagon loads. Financial security? Again, far more than just adequately provided for. Excitement? He could go swimming with great white sharks, climb mountains or race motorcycles but the thrill of discovery slumming it seems to be his preferred choice of excitement.

As pointed out by others above, he could afford a discreet and high class prostitute if he wanted but the thrill of the meeting would be missing.

Something to bear in mind when you hear about Supreme Court Judges, politicians and other high profile people being caught behind a trash skip in a back alley having sex with a $10 whore and wonder about their motivation …

I’m curious if this incident will be treated (totally ignored) by the NFL the way they did when the Patriots owner got nabbed for the same thing. The owners acted totally differently, Kraft using his money on lawyers that eventually managed to get all charges dropped as an illegal sting. While York has already done a plea deal, the reason for the change in charges from soliciting prostitution to disorderly conduct and possession of criminal tools, and pled no contest and served the two day sentence before the news was discovered by the media.
I am interested to see if this now totally dropped by the media and the league as there is no reason for new actions happening about the charges.
