So, I watched the videos of Fauci in front of the Senate Homeland Security Committee.
Here’s my takeaways, somewhat in the style of MST3K and are my opinions and thoughts only.
James Comer, the chair of the House Oversight Committee needs to be taken out and bitch slapped into next week after he said on Fox News: “Biden’s pardon doesn’t cover Dr. Fauci’s testimony this week and if he continues to lie, he must be held accountable.”
This little throwaway might have had something to do with Fauci pleading the Fifth over a hundred times. Not that he was going to say anything anyway, but not sure why Comer put himself on Fauci’s team–he’s already got lawyers.
Speaking of lawyers, definitely a boss move to have one of Fauci’s thrown out. You can’t plead the Fifth but have someone else sockpuppet for you. Yay Rand Paul.
Josh Hawley: The Man. You could tell he was having a great time. Pointing out that Fauci used federal resources and staff to get and keep cash awards for his actions as a federal employee was genius since that was something that wasn’t widely known. Everything that came out of his mouth was a masterclass in smackdown. Read some of what he said here.
A shoutout to Senator Fetterman, who, in deference to the American people and the gravity of the hearing, not only showed up in a suit and tie, but said in part (read the whole thing here):
Now there was a really advanced lab that was close by and then you have this unknown virus out. So, but that became a very partisan thing. And now it seems now it’s more and more emerging theory that that would have come from from the lab.
Now, you know, I hope I think that the next time our nation’s facing something like this, we are not become, you know, as I might have been blinded by the partisan idea that maybe the truth might come from a side that’s different than than you are. But I think we should really be willing to pursue truth no matter where that may have emerged, you know, after for all of that. So, and I now see the the remain back to the chair. Thank you.
As for Fauci himself, there wasn’t a snowball’s chance on the sun that he was going to say jack over shit. He lied to the President, the American people, and the world and enriched himself through the suffering of others (and congratulated himself for it). His ‘pardon’ is probably worthless since it was not a wet signature and he wasn’t accused of a crime, so how could he be pardoned for something that was a theoretical at the time?
The only way he could be compelled to answer anything would be if they circled his chair with salt and threw holy water on him until he gave it up.
The only punishment that would be remotely appropriate would be to have his vocal chords cut and his head put into a container with flesh eating insects. Perhaps that will be his fate in hell because I doubt he will receive any punishment that he richly deserves in this life.
