Two great things that go great together–I voted for things like this

The Trump administration took two very good actions this week. The first: cutting down the number of ‘refugees’ from 125,000 to 7,500 to be let into the country. And they will be mostly white South Africans.

The memo said only that the admission of the 7,500 refugees during 2026 fiscal year was ‘justified by humanitarian concerns or is otherwise in the national interest.’

The second action is that work authorizations will not automatically be extended.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem in the interim final rule argued that “robust vetting” had been hampered as a result.

The Trump Cabinet official wrote that in part the “need to conduct complete and thorough vetting of applicants for renewal EADs to mitigate potential risks to public safety and national security became abundantly clear on June 1, 2025, when an alien firebombed and assaulted demonstrators at a peaceful Jewish event to support hostages in Gaza.”

I have to admit I’m not a fan of putting one country in front of another as far as refugee status, but there needs to be additional criteria, such as willingness to assimilate and bring skills to this country, which the majority of ‘refugees’ do not. It has been too easy in the past to claim persecution as a free pass.

And any ‘automatic’ authorization should be an obvious no-go. Too many ways for that to be played as well.

It seems that the administration is cutting off the heads of the hydra one by one. Hopefully they’re remembering to cauterize the stumps so they can’t grow back.

  1. Cauterizing is indeed the schtick. At this point I see both parties will go against Mr trump & put him & his ilk in jail or worse, they did it once they’ll do it again.

That takes an Act of CONgress, i.e. new laws to prevent the Demonrats, if they ever come to power again, from undoing what Trump’s doing by EO.

Might happen after the mid-terms, if the R’s take full control of both houses, a bunch of RINO’s get primaried and the R’s have a 61 seat majority in the Senate.

    Not happening, IMHO.

  3. Demonrat’s aren’t in the majority in any branch of .gov, except the deep state, most of the judiciary, with the exception of the SJC, and they’re continuing to wreak havoc on the country.

There’s a whole bunch there in the District of Criminals that need to go the way of the Dodo.

  4. All of the contrarians who talk smack about Trump’s actions don’t consider anything other than their dislike for the man himself. His actions are nearly always in the best interest of our country, and almost never self- serving (except in his descriptions and showmanship). Trump is not perfect, or a saint by any any means, but he does have integrity in his motives and love for our country.

  5. IT’s extremely clear we should not allow ANY muslims to enter Our Nation – they are incompatible with Our Constitution and way of life!
