Helen Andrews, a former editor at The American Conservative, gave a wonderful speech wherein she discusses the feminization of civilization puts that civilization on the road to destruction. Listen to the whole thing, it’s worth it, IMO.
She hits a lot of good points, especially about how some professions, such as Human Resources and Psychology, as well as much of academia, have been taken over by women (hit critical mass of 30-50%). She lays out the fact that when this happens, then paradigms shift as well as norms. Feminization = woke.
As she explained a political system dominated by men will go by facts and objectivity, but by women it will focus on emotion and subjectivity. That isn’t an ironclad rule, she explains since some individuals fall on one side or the other.
Women may be changing the bedrocks of our civilization as they have an outsized impact on the political landscape. It could threaten civilization and the rule of law. She explains what that means in reality.
I will also direct you to the 2015 article by Kim du Toit entitled the Pussification of the Western Male. ETA and correction per comment from Joe: The original posting of his article was from 2003–2015 was a reprint. So he called it twenty-two years ago.
But in the twentieth century, women became more and more involved in the body politic, and in industry, and in the media—and mostly, this has not been a good thing. When women got the vote, it was inevitable that government was going to become more powerful, more intrusive, and more “protective” (ie. more coddling), because women are hard-wired to treasure security more than uncertainty and danger. It was therefore inevitable that their feminine influence on politics was going to emphasize (lowercase “s”) social security.
They both hit on the hard truths. I’d suggest re-reading du Toit’s article and then listening to Ms. Andrews.
ETA: From France and the theft at the Louvre:
Ms Buffin, 46 years old, was hired as the first woman head of security by Laurence des Cars, the museum’s first female director, last September. But yesterday, Ms Buffin, who has held positions in the police and the French Ministry of Culture, faced calls for her resignation and accusations of unsuitability for the role. Marion Maréchal, MEP and granddaughter of Marine Le Pen, declared that France is ‘the laughing stock of the world’ because of the ‘ridiculous theft’.
She wrote on social media: ‘The Minister of Culture must demand the immediate resignation of the museum director and the head of security, whom she appointed as part of a policy of feminisation. It is the cost of giving up competence: endangering the cultural heritage of our nation’. Ms Le Pen, leader of the Rassemblement National party, called the raid a ‘wound to the soul of the country’.
