I’m surprised the CDC admitted this…

Per the CDC, three-quarters of new tuberculosis cases in the US are in the ‘foreign born’.

That’s as close as that still-woke federal department will get to saying ‘illegals’.

Consistent with previous years, in 2024, TB disease disproportionally affected non-U.S.-born persons. Among U.S.-born persons, there were 2,356 (23 percent) provisionally reported TB cases with a corresponding rate of 0.8 per 100,000 persons. Among non-U.S.-born persons, there were 7,915 (76 percent) provisionally reported TB cases with a corresponding rate of 15.5 per 100,000 persons.

Although the border is essentially closed to illegals at this point, we are still bearing the brunt of the Autopen Administration’s open border policies.

  1. I remember when there was an outbreak of measles at Disneyland in 2014. Everyone jumped on the bandwagon of slamming the anti-vaxers for the outbreak. No one bothered mentioning that measles has been eradicated in the United States, and if Obama had not let in a bunch of unvetted aliens (illegal or not), the outbreak would not have occurred.

    1. Unferth–Back when I was in college (long time ago) one of the teams we were supposed to play in some sport had to forfeit because they had a measles outbreak on their campus. They were Christian Scientists, I think. But yes, the measles outbreaks, TB, Chaga, scabies, etc. etc. are hitting more communities and harder because of unvetted aliens. Import the Third World, become the Third World.

  2. The only reason they aren’t making a bigger dear of this is because they don’t have a vaccine to push…

  4. Re: measles. When did this illness (absurdly common in my late-60s/early 70s childhood) become the deadly plague that the enemedia plays up like ebola? I recall mothers sending their kids to infected households to be deliberately exposed to measles and similar contagions (chicken pox, mumps) just to get it over with. Can’t speak for others, but I don’t think my mom was looking to bump me off. (Not yet, anyway. Teen years, different story.)

The one we feared most was scary “Mono”, the “kissing disease” that some contracted, minus the kissing. A few kids lost a year at school because of it. Beloved wife, for one, was left back a grade in those pre-distance learning days.

    crazyeighter–Yep.

Harbinger–I don’t know when it became the scourge of mankind. There was a whole Brady Bunch episode where all the kids got it, along with Alice and it didn’t seem to be a thing.

  7. I had measles when I was kid, along with three other siblings. I think it ran 4-5 days. I remember Mom keeping the shades down in the daytime and putting cold cloths on our foreheads to keep the fever from frying our brain, although I don’t think it worked in my case ;^)).
