This is beyond sick

The parents of a student who was killed in the Parkland shooting have created an AI version of their son with whom the mother, who is still grieving, has conversations. That is sad and they probably need to seek some counseling.

The sick part is Jim Acosta, formerly of CNN “interviewing” this AI regarding gun control.

He went so far as to say that this was a student ‘speaking out’.

No, no it wasn’t. It was an AI with the face of a student that grieving parents programmed. The voice was AI, the words were AI. This avatar is not/was not that kid, not even his ghost. It was an AI wearing a kid who couldn’t give permission for the use of his face or voice. It’s exploitation to a level that is well-nigh inconceivable.

This is just grotesque and horrible.

I do not have words for the disgust I feel for this.

  1. Disgust is a good word to start with. I go with ‘despicable’ next.
That he called it an “interview” shows his intergrity as a journalist.

  2. Putting words into the mouth of a dead kid to advance your agenda.
Yeah, Acosta, you’ve hit a new low, even for a gungrabber.

  5. Maybe someone can create AI versions of Holocaust victims. Then Acosta can ask them whether or not they endorse gun control … or if they would have preferred to be able to fight back against being shoved into cattle cars.

These clueless Karens and Beta Males can bloviate all they want. They might as well be talking to a brick wall. I and the rest of the bricks in the wall still have and train with our firearms. Schadenfreude!

  7. What the hell? How many years has it been since the Parkland shooting? I remember it vividly, because I was sitting at the bar of a local pub and grille having lunch the day it happened, and immediately thought “great, here we go again with another push for gun control laws” as I watched the footage of kids and staff running from the building, taken from a news helicopter.

While I realize having a child violently murdered is not something a parent can ever truly get over, it’s been long enough that this sort of perverse grieving is a very bad sign. Gun control of Karen needs to STFU and seek professional help. Jim Acosta just needs to STFU.

  8. Unferth–They’d never do that…

    streetdog–Absolutely!

BRD–It’s been a while and yes, the parents need to seek help. I’m assuming they got paid for this abomination. Jim Acosta needs to walk any direction until his hat floats.
