Rooting out DEI

Trying to root out something like DEI is like trying to move a boulder with a toothpick. It’s so entrenched and there are so many True BelieversTM that it is a constant struggle. And it’s usually the mid- to lower-level folks who aren’t affected by leadership changes who are the worst offenders.

For example, folks at the USDA are still discriminating against white farmers. Despite direction from the top.

In February, Rollins issued a directive rescinding all of her department’s DEI programs, declaring that the USDA is instead prioritizing equality, meritocracy, and color-blind policies. Since the start of President Donald Trump’s second term, the USDA has been comprehensively reviewing DEI programming in an effort to reverse the “woke priorities of the Biden administration,” the agency said in a “First 100 Days” press release.

But that’s not preventing the passive resistance. And a watchdog has noticed and is taking action.

“We still have received no response and are preparing a federal lawsuit against Secretary Rollins,” Lennington told the Washington Examiner. “We don’t quite know what is going on at USDA, but we can only assume that holdover staff from the Biden administration are protecting these race-based programs and allowing the discrimination to continue.”

So we’ll see if it’s possible to force the issue. Until the people responsible are held to the fire, there won’t be any change.

  1. “Until the people responsible are held to the fire, there won’t be any change.” So true, this and other things.

I’m old enough to remember 60’s Affirmative Action. DEI is AA warmed over, renamed and expanded. Easy to believe we will never be rid of it.

  2. Yet another of the many and varied reasons the present system is beyond any chance of recovery, and will need to die (or be killed) off before there is any hope of this garbage actually being undone. Every person presently in the employ of the US Federal (and most state) Govt in any capacity – whether by election, appointment or contract – needs to be shitcanned, and whatever happens after that has to exclude every one of them from getting involved again.

That may not be a realistic expectation, but it is what needs to happen. Nothing less than a wholesale house cleaning of those who have the foreknowledge of how to pervert the system and use it for their personal benefit will ever be effective now. Since the only way I can see that happening is for certain other (bad things) to take place, it appears we are now stuck waiting for those precursor events to take place.

  3. Remember: the Civil Rights Act only applies to minorities.

I made the mistake of sending my daughters to University of California schools. They thoroughly brainwashed the kids into hating whites and Western Civilization.

  4. BRD and Unferth–Maybe there’s a start. The Supreme Court just ruled unanimously that discrimination is discrimination even if you are a part of the majority. There’s no extra burden of proof like in the past.

  5. MWC- well and fine that such a ruling was handed down. But, it’s ridiculous that such a ruling had to be made to begin with (when it should’ve been self evident), and further, don’t hold your breath on the ruling begin followed, or for there to be any consequences for failure to adhere to it. Figure this to be another pyrrhic victory; it looks good on paper but will have little substance to it.

  6. BRD–It is ridiculous that it had to be, just like having to make a rule to keep boys out of girls sports is necessary. At least the ruling is there to be used.
