He finds out about the warrant when it’s flagged on his passport renewal and goes to the police station and turns himself in because he’s innocent. How are we sure he’s innocent? 1) He was out with friends on the night in question and 2) he’s in a frickin’ wheelchair and has been for 25 years. Which would make it impossible for him to kick in someone’s door or ‘run off into the night’.
How do the local gendarme handle it when he turns himself in? They put him in handcuffs which caused him to fall out of his wheelchair. As he’s on the ground, one of College Park Georgia’s finest says that ‘it’s a ruse’.
Bear in mind this is not the first time this woman has made a false police report. She is not in jail. Further, and this is the point I don’t get, she KNEW he was in a wheelchair–he’s been in the chair for 25 years and they dated 20 years ago. So WTF?
The police department has not apologized for their clear incompetence and stupidity both for not serving the warrant (not like dude was hard to find) or for causing him to dump out of his wheelchair and lie on the floor of the police station.
But they’re the ones who should be the only ones to carry guns??
