A 41 year old woman is suing the Navy because she says that her paperwork to become a Navy SEAL (yes, you read that right) was slow walked so that she’d be too old before she finished her training.
Bear in mind that she decided on a change of life path 7 years ago, in 2018.
“I was tired of my law job, so I decided to find my inner goddess by joining an elite team of warriors that jibes with my fitness goals”
She figures because she long distance runs, swims, and is scuba-certified that she could be a SEAL. As a woman. At 41. Because she has fitness goals. I’m figuring there’s other ways to meet those goals. Body building. Iron Woman competitions. Triathlons. Marathons. There’s no mention of extreme sports or any of the above in the article (and I assume they’d include those if she did them).
Heck fire, really enlist and go through Basic and then see if you think you can be a SEAL after that.
There’s some other issues. 1) The Navy has no record of her trying to enlist in 2018 or 2019. 2) She got popped for a DUI in 2020 that wasn’t resolved until 2023. So there’s questions.
She wants to be judged on merit, she says. No woman has ever made it through SEALs training. EVER. Most men don’t make it through.
If she’s suing now, what’s going to happen if she’s allowed to try and almost certainly washes out? Because they aren’t going to lower the standards for her, nor should they.
Go to either article linked above and check out the picture of her at the range. And you’ll see that she’s not even holding the rifle properly and isn’t bearing its weight at all (using the table).
You might be an excellent long distance runner in running clothes. Put on a pack that weighs over 50 pounds, plus boots instead of those light shoes and see how that works. You might be an excellent swimmer and be scuba-certified. Now do it fully clothed with gear in the ocean in bad weather and see how that works. You might know how to shoot. Now do it standing with no arm-rest for an hour and see how that works.
I was laughing with a friend a long time ago and we figured then that there is an age limit on being The Chosen One. And dreams are fine but you’re either setting yourself up for disappointment or delusional if you think you can manifest becoming the first female SEAL EVER because you tried to litigate yourself in. That’s DEI talking and it’s done in the military with a stake through its heart.
But the Navy is going to have to deal with this dumbassery because someone won’t accept physical, biological reality.
