  1. Great menagerie as usual. I doubt Glitch McConnell will see another turkey day with all the trouble he is having with gravity lately.

  2. The Progressive and Whig parties may officially be gone, but they simply became the Democrat and Republican parties, with the GOP taking on all the crony-capitalism-loving aspects of the Whigs along with many Progressive attitudes too. Don’t k8d yourself. These problems never truly go away.

  4. GOP Crony Capitalism? While there certainly some Republicans that fit that mold — and we call them GOPe (for establishment GOP) or perhaps RINOs — the amount of crony capitalism in the Democratic [sic] Party is off the charts.

The Democratic [sic] Party practically ran the censorship arm of the various tech giants. The revolving door between Big Pharma and the Democratic [sic] Party’s FDA/CDC is legendary.

Don’t get me wrong. I haven’t been an R or a D for decades. But the Republicans being “for big business” flipped to where the Democrats are the ones for big business — and it happened around Obama’s time-frame.

  5. Read somewhere that there actually is still a Whig party. Few members and no publicity. Perhaps a curio?

  6. WDS–Thanks! And yes, Glitch Mitch seems to be on the downhill slide–he’s served his purpose to his masters.

MrLiberty–What is old is new again.

    Gerry–Exactly!

poorworkingstiff–The positions of R and D did seem to flip in the last twenty years.

Frank–Weird. I’ll have to look it up!

  7. Whig follow-up: seems like they merged with a couple other small groups around 2019/2020.
