The meme about congresscritters, their earnings versus their net worth seemed a little odd. Why does Senator Warren have a higher salary than Senator McConnell?
TL;DR: The numbers are wrong, but the concept is correct.
There is also a “right” way and a wrong way for politicans to accept bribes. Senator Bob Menendez is the poster child for the wrong way. Never accept the bribe directly. That’s illegal.
The “right” way is to set up a family charity (or two); say for breast cancer if you’re a Biden or just a family charitable foundation if you’re a Clinton. You then hire your family to operate the charity, paying them exorbitant salaries (after all, they’re worth it!) When someone (wink-wink, nod-nod) is interested in your attention, you direct them to the family charity. All above board. All legal.
On a side note, I’m still wondering what Bob did to warrant an investigation. Accepting bribes is the pretext, what did he actually do?

Re: the $40 billion for Twitter- if throwing money at world hunger was all it took to fix it, it would have been fixed years ago. Frankly I like the idea of billionaires working to get us to new planets.
