Starring the fantastic Val Kilmer. It was made during the Airplane! era. The setting is East Germany. Younger folks will not get some of the jokes. Lots of running gags and a lot of fun.
It also had Omar Sharif in a bit part. Yeah, the guy who was in Lawrence of Arabia and Doctor Zhivago was the straight man for some really bad jokes.
Matthew–Agree! So much goodness but yet it didn't hit big back in the day.

the guy who was in Lawrence of Arabia and Doctor Zhivago was the straight man for some really bad jokes.That was their genius.Getting serious actors to play the same parts they've been playing for decades rxcept comedically.They're responsible for Shatner finally realizing he was funny.One of the funnier bits from that movie was his agent getting the Fistmaster 3000.It was very sly, they didn't focus on the box.The East Grrman Nazis told Val his agent died because he didn't know they have 220V in Europe.

Craig—Definitely a fun movie. Good choice for a date!Veeshir—I hadn’t thought of that but yes. Also worked for Peter Graves and Leslie Nielsen. I do remember that part too. Subtle, but hilarious!

One of our all time favorites – Mr. Kilmer was quite an actor – handsome guy! So sorry he's had such a rough time in his latter years.

SCBen–Agree and yes, he's had a hard time–I'm glad they were able to get him into the latest Top Gun movies.
