A tale of two schools

I mentioned in a different post, the walk-out of students in Pennsylvania regarding a policy passed by the school board that allowed students to use the locker rooms and restrooms of their stated gender.

Well, that school district has reversed their policy because of that protest.  Interestingly enough, the vote was 5-4 (the same as the vote implementing the policy).  So one person changed their mind.  But it was enough.

Compare and contrast with a school in Illinois.  They implemented a policy allowing students  to use the locker and rest rooms of their stated gender.  If other students were uncomfortable with that, then they could use the restroom in the nurses’ office.

And the line was out the door and down the hall.  Because most students were uncomfortable with it.  While not a formal protest, I’d think that any aware person would understand that the majority of the students were not on board with this new policy.  Combine this with the fact that students only had certain times to use a specific restroom then of course, lines would form.

So the district is investigating all of the students who chose to use the alternate bathroom for ‘harassing’ the ‘trans’ students (how avoiding someone is harassing them, I have no idea). And they are giving them tardy slips or are missing classes due to the length of the line.  So they are affecting the students’ permanent records.  I’d call that harassment.

Parents Defending Education is on the case so we’ll see what happens.

  1. I can't tell you how happy I was that my son decided to homeschool his kids. I moved 2,000 miles so that I can help.

  2. Get rid of the social studies pseudo science departments. I do not agree with anything of what the teach. I agree however with art and hard sciences. Also the old testament and of the new I would agree only with the main four plus the letters from the actual disciple–not Paul who was not a disciple and had no first hand knowledge of anything Jesus had to say. I would agree with philosophy of Plato Aristotle and Kant.

  4. Avraham, is your argument that 'first hand experience' is the only way to real knowledge; that it be the best path to knowledge; that our eyes and ears ('senses') is superior to other methods? It seems that you greatly discount Paul's conversion on the road to Damascus. Further, that what inspired Paul to turn about and to suffer so extraordinarily is inferior to the aforemention 'first hand knowledge.I am keen in reading your response.

Y'all want to discuss, start your own blog and invite Avraham over there. If he feels like engaging, he can do so there.
