Not the way I'd choose to check out

It looks like the airport worker in Texas who was ‘ingested’ into the engine on a jet threw himself in there on purpose to commit suicide.

“This isn’t the first time David has tried something like this from my knowledge,” David’s brother, Joshua, told the Daily Mail. “There were other times. This time I thought it was different.”

My condolences to his family.

  1. I feel sorry for the mechanics and flight line crew who have to clean up the mess.

  2. Not to mention that the engine is now pretty much scrap, and the aircraft will be out of service until the engine is replaced and the rest of the aircraft inspected. FOD throws running turbines way out of balance so it means lots of X-raying of mounting pylons and wing structure. Mucho dinero to the airline, or more likely, Delta and their insurer. Anon 2

  3. Probably not what the psychologist meant when he told the guy one way to forget about a failed relationship is to throw yourself into your work?

  5. I recall ages ago on a site called rotten dot com seeing images of a guy that actually did himself in using a BAND SAW.This would be quicker and messier… but equally as unsettling to have to witness / clean up after.I can see getting to the point of mad desperation… and I suppose at that juncture one is not in their right mind, but what do you call it? It's certainly not creativity.Sad…
