They were the Greatest Generation. They grew up during the roaring 20's and the great depression. Then off to war. We are what we use to be because of them. Try to picture todays kids charging the beaches with their cell phones and he/shes/its. It was my fathers generation and I hope I have planted some of the seed in my sons. I do fear it is to late!

Casualties from June 6–August 31, 1944 not on June 6, 1944The National D-Day Memorial Foundation is one of those organizations. At its memorial site in Bedford, Virginia, there are 4,414 names enshrined in bronze plaques representing every Allied soldier, sailor, airman and coast guardsman who died on D-Day. That figure was the result of years of exhaustive research by librarian and genealogist Carol Tuckwiller on behalf of the Foundation, and remains the most accurate count of Allied fatalities within the 24-hour period known as D-Day.

re — 'rights and freedom'As we are seeing, those events merely postponed the inevitable.The pendulum swings..I honestly truly believe if the brits stayed neutral during the 1930s and 40s, our brothers in Germany would crush the BOLSHEVIKS, eliminating several decades of Crimes Against Humanity by the soviets and red chinese… and on a smaller scale, decades of crimes against the Palestine people..And then, eventually, the pendulum would swing, and we would have some other RulingParasites scolding everybody while flying private jets to climate conferences..Long-term, dramatic evolutions in history rarely revolve around one individual or one event.Absent a city-size asteroid crashing into the Caribbean, evolution tends to require a slow cascading series of inevitable occurrences……then, with the benefits of hindsight, those are painfully obviously predictable. .PS:Brothers fighting brothers.Who benefited?Follow the money..Again, I strongly recommend the book SUPERMOB by Russo.
