Woke anthropology

Riley Gaines, a former college swimmer and someone who was literally sidelined when she tied Will Thomas because they only had one trophy and Thomas was a better photo op, has been making the rounds speaking out against men in women’s sports.

At a Leadership Institute speech, a Prof Gabby Yearwood, a ‘socio-cultural anthropologist’ stood up and told the group that if two sets of bones were to be examined in 150 years, then he “wouldn’t be able to tell if they were from a male or female”.

His response caused the whole room to burst into laughter.

Of course he got butthurt because they were laughing at a man with a PhD.

Gaines wasn’t taking his answer as gospel (which exacerbated the butthurt) and said:

“Every single rational person knows the answer: men have narrower hips, their skulls are different, they have an extra rib, their femurs are longer, their jaws are different.”

Well it turns out that Yearwood teaches a course in “Activist Anthropology” at the University of Pittsburgh.  Additionally he

“directs the law school’s Center for Civil Rights and Racial Justice. His research interests include “the social constructions of race and racism, masculinity, gender, sex, Black Feminist and Black Queer theory, anthropology of sport and [the] Black Diaspora.”

Guess that’s one reason why law schools are going down the tubes.

Apparently gender activists take the position that Prof Yearwood does because you can’t tell from bones how the individual self-identified.  (Seriously)

While Riley misspoke when she said that men have an extra rib, an archeology professor from San Jose State referred to Yearwood’s position as “ideologically motivated fudging” and emphasized that the importance of determining the sex of remains is critical in the area of forensics.

But Yearwood lectures this crap to his students.  And apparently is mucking about with law students as well.  He’s an example of how ‘higher ed’ is totally co-opted and is replacing science with gender-pop stupidity.
