If this becomes widespread things will change more rapidly then most imagine. It will be interesting to see how sports media reports on this; and, even if the Usual Talking Heads don't specify why team X did not play team Y, the 1-0 score will be a tipoff. One thing I'm looking for is how some schools do battle with the NCAA. It costs money to bus / fly a team to city X to play school Y, and to fly a team someplace to get a forfeit – and getting that in-person forfeit is important because it shows the team from school Y was present and ready to play the scheduled game but due to “local conditions” refused to do so, which is radically different from “we learned you have a transgender player so we're not coming” – it will be interesting to see if schools go to the NCAA and request reimbursement for travel expenses. (That there is public record of a female volleyball player suffering debilitating injury due to being struck in the head by a ball delivered by a transgender player established, and emphasizes, the player safety aspect.)All this, of course, relies on the administrative hierarchy of the athletic department supporting it. You will pardon me if I elect to not hold my breath on that. It will also be interesting to see what happens to the next season's schedule; if school X is known to be Pure Woke and has transgender players on some teams, will school Y refuse to schedule games with them?
