Oberlin is making the news again for granting tenure to an Iranian professor who apparently covered up Iranian mass executions while he was an ambassador to the UN.
From a letter to Oberlin:
We have also learned that several hundred families of victims of the 1988 massacre of political prisoners in Iran brought Mr. Mahallati’s background to your attention in an October 2020 open letter and subsequent correspondences, but that you have taken no credible action in this regard. We write to add our voice to theirs, seeking an impartial and independent investigation…
Wow. Oberlin really has it going on by being on the wrong side of, well, pretty much everything. I can’t believe that any responsible parent would send their kids there.
As a note, this is why Utah’s action in the previous post is so important. This is an example of what colleges and universities are doing. Why would you want students from there?
