In a very poorly thought out article in The Atlantic (does anyone read this anymore), one of their authors called for a ‘pandemic amnesty’. Those of us who were reviled, sidelined, were forced to mask despite all evidence to the contrary, couldn’t see their loved ones, and those who had children who were committing suicide or were dropping behind in their development were just supposed to put the whole thing behind us. Because we were also supposed to forget that the libs were calling for us to lose our healthcare, or just plain die. And they were not living by the restrictions they put on others.
Libs of Tik Tok put together a mega thread of why pandemic amnesty cannot happen. And she brings receipts in the form of tweets and news articles.
I guess in way I was fortunate. Both of my parents were in assisted living/memory care units. My mom was in Michigan. Both passed before the policies came down from both elected and unelected government entities. My sister and I discussed this once–we are on opposite sides of the fence regarding the vaxx and other things. However, we talked about the fact that if Mom had been alive, we would have broken her out of the facility. She had advanced dementia. It is horrific to be thankful that our mom died when she did because the alternative would have been worse.
Read the whole thing. Remember why we cannot forgive or forget what they did. Remember why we cannot capitulate again.
#NoPandemicAmnesty Mega Thread
They want us to forgive and forget what they did during the pandemic. We shouldn’t.
Here’s why:
