A new study from Brazil that has been published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine shows (not surprisingly) that FOURTEEN years post-‘transition’, men wanting to be women still had all of the strength, musculature, and cardiopulmonary capacity of a man.
…all had undergone male puberty and had been taking estrogen long-term. Four had undergone a gonadectomy (removal of the testes). The female and male control participants were similar to the transgender participants in age and body mass index, which helped to strengthen the meaningfulness of comparison among the groups.
Those people who think that taking testosterone blockers will remove the advantages of male physicality and allow women and men to play on a level field are fooling themselves. But unfortunately they are also the ones making policies.
There is some movement to acknowledge biology in certain sports–let’s hope it trickles down to all sports from the elite level down to K-12. Then maybe the Vermont girls can use their locker room again and North Carolina girls won’t be knocked into next week.
One of the commenters on a previous thread mentioned that if schools would stop playing against teams that allow boys on their women’s teams then maybe this stupid would stop. I think it’s a great place to start.
