The three major credit card companies: American Express, Mastercard, and Visa, have all capitulated to Attorneys General from California and New York and are going to be creating new codes specifically for gun and ammo purchases.
So there will now be a privately administered gun owners registry. Government has rules (even if they are breaking them at every turn), but private data is a lot different.
ETA: I don’t think the lawbreakers use credit cards for purchases. Just another way to stomp on the rights of law abiding citizens.
