Abortion and the ADA

In 2021 a woman in NYC called Planned Parenthood to schedule an abortion.  She has been paralyzed from the waist down since she was a baby due to a car accident and has rods in her spine due to scoliosis.

They called her back and told her that ‘We don’t do procedures for people in a wheelchair.’  She went elsewhere and paid four times as much, probably since the other provider isn’t in partnership with the federal government.

She stayed quiet about this discrimination until she saw an ad from Planned Parenthood that had a woman in a wheelchair in it.  Then she decided to ‘set up a sting operation’ in June of 2022 to see if her first experience was a fluke.  Once again her appointment was canceled (someone from PP later called to schedule the (fake) appointment).

PP claims that they had a third party provider making appointments and that contractor has been terminated but it seems quite fishy.

We know they are a corrupt organization, but I would think that the ADA should be looking at them more closely too, especially due to their connection to the federal government.

  1. And, if you read the article, she can't, apparently, figure out use Birth Control, so she need abortions so she won't be a single mom after dating a guy for a month or two.
