Here’s a montage video of medical experts mocking the idea of using masks to keep from getting or transmitting a virus.  It spans over a decade.  The CDC tried to bring masking back for monkeypox before getting slammed down and they are trying another round of covid fearmongering (like anyone cares at this point).

I only put something over my face when I absolutely had to and felt dirty every time I did (generally I used a scarf instead of a true mask).  Because I knew that masking didn’t work and it was theater.  At the base of it, a virus is a virus.  They are all roughly the same size.  Unless you’re going full-on hazmat with a breather, then nothing else is going to help.  So if they try it again, just say no.
