 I know that Wirecutter and Firehand (Firehand is where I got the idea for the title of this post) already posted on this, so I’m late to the party.  

A January, 2022 internal memo from State Farm indicated that they had partnered with a company called GenderCool to provide books on transgender to grade schools in Florida.  State Farm gave the company $40,000 and asked their agents to ‘voluntarily’ participate.

Since we all know that sunshine is the best disinfectant, word got out about this program yesterday.  Something along the line of 99% of the independent agents were not aware of this program nor was it vetted past their group before implementation.  

Before end of day State Farm corporate was in full on ‘oh shit’ mode.

I called my State Farm guy’s office when I saw the article, mainly to give him a heads-up because I am pretty sure he’d never countenance this kind of shenanigan.  His assistant didn’t know anything about it but was going to look it up on the web.

Per the article, State Farm’s 100th anniversary conference is taking place soon in Las Vegas.  Hope the execs have their fireproof undies on because folks, including their agents, are beyond pissed.
