John Leguizamo notwithstanding, the Hispanic community has not gotten on board with the term ‘Latinx’ instead of Latino or Latina when referring to Latinos. Why, because it’s stupid and hard to pronounce. Spanish, like the other Romance languages is a gendered language: people and things are either male or female. It’s pretty simple.
But Leftists don’t want male and females, they want everything and everyone to be neuter and genderless, mainly because I think they want to suck more of the joy out of the world.
So they are giving it another shot. Their new term: ‘Latine’. Plus side, it’s can be pronounced. Negative side, it’s still stupid and is still colonialism at its core. It’s everything that the Left says that Conservatives do.
Now I don’t have a dog in this hunt–I’m not Latina. If Hispanics want their language to lose its nuance and beauty because of some idiots in academe, their business. But it would be a shame.
