He received a lifetime achievement award Oscar in the ‘untelevised’ portion of the Oscars. That would have been the only reason I would have watched. Fortunately some folks caught the high points on video. Unfortunately his whole acceptance speech isn’t available anywhere I can find.

I guarantee watching Mr. Jackson receive a much-deserved Oscar is a lot more uplifting than anything else the Oscars had to offer this year.
