Okay, so I had SOMETHING….

Started feeling crappy last Wednesday afternoon.  Headache, sinuses, and tired. The only cough was from a dry throat due to sinus drainage–never hit my chest.

Scored a home test which indicated negative for the wuflu but read later that the home tests work better with a saliva sample.  So really don’t know and didn’t care enough to go out and have my brainpan swabbed to find out for sure.

Stayed home–why?  Because I was sick.  Didn’t matter what it was, didn’t want to share the germs.

B kept me in Chick-Fil-A spicy chicken sandwiches and other foodstuffs and another friend brought organic goods, vitamins and treats in drive-by food drops.  I had soups and such in the pantry too so all was well on the food front.

I’m on the mend and feeling almost human again.

Kinda hoping it was the XOMICRON so I can have an acquired immunity boost.  If not, well, I’ve gained immunity to something, so that’s cool.

  1. I had it right after Christmas. Early in the morning of the 27th I had a tickle in my nose. By the afternoon I was sneezing with a runny nose. Tuesday I was coughing a bit, more like constant clearing my throat still sneezing and blowing. Started easing up Wednesday morning, and by Wednesday night bedtime, it was all but gone. I went to work each day as normal, and had no intention of getting a test. Whether it was just a cold or the Moronic variant, I did not care since they are EXACTLY the same, and I wasn't going to be another statistic for the panic porn narrative.Several others at the firehouse are now just getting over it, but the guy that had it first didn't get it from me. I was well past it by then.

  2. Glypto–I really don't interact with a lot of folks in person so it was relatively easy for me to stay away from people. When I worked in an office, I made sure that anyone with symptoms went the hell home because I didn't want the whole office down. But I wasn't sweating it–just crappy and there were some things I wanted to do but couldn't.
