Illness myopia

A friend of mine had family over for a late Christmas.  The kids seemed a bit draggy and one of the grandkids was sneezing in everyone’s face.

I bet you think you know where this is going, but it’s not covid.

Why??  Because the kids had been testing for covid–over and over and over again and came out negative every time.  However, they were ass-dragging tired, stuffy noses, and scratchy throats.

But because they didn’t test positive for covid, even though they were clearly sick, they thought it was okay to be in close proximity to other people.

Now I seem to remember a time when, if you were sick–no matter what it was, you stayed home.  Because you didn’t want anyone else to catch what you had. It was just common sense.  But now it seems that it’s okay to be sick, symptomatically sick, around other people as long as you keep testing negative for the wuflu.

Yeesh.

  1. Wow, that is an interesting and illustrative point. I may have read of this before but not expressed as well. Myopic, indeed.
