Changing words to meet a covid meme

Case–Used to mean that someone was sick with visible symptoms.  Now it just means that someone had a positive test and it doesn’t matter if they have symptoms or not.

Approval–As far as the FDA is concerned, there used to be a difference between approved and Emergency Use Authorization.  Judging from the headlines, apparently, if it’s a Pfizer product, like their new Pfizermectin, the two terms are synonymous.

Fully vaccinated–Used to be two shots, now it’s two shots and a booster, unless you’re in Israel, when they’re up to two boosters.

And the big one–Vaccine:

Forgot this one–Pandemic of the Unvaccinated:  A meme that those who have declined to take a still-experimental gene therapy are driving variants and positive tests.  Omicron is hitting the vaxxed 80% to 20%.  Plus, omicron is essentially a common cold and is now endemic, or soon will be.  So, no pandemic and no unvaccinated driving this bus.

ETA yet another:  Executive Order or Guidance now means the same thing as law when it comes to covid.

  1. I completely agree: the injection is no vaccination. And the press, even those on the side of reason and logic, persist in using vaccine to describe the experiment. Maddening.

  2. Dan–I agree–it's maddening. I think the one that chaps my nether region the most is the use of case instead of positive test.

  3. I said from day one of this (in Illinois) when every 15 minutes they announce that 2,000,000 “cases” were found. My question right away was “What does testing positive even mean?”If you are asymptomatic and NOT hospitalized AND not given any therapeutics for treatment, what's the difference????

  4. Matthew–Agreed. I think the use of the word 'case' instead of 'positive test' is the most egregious way of causing fear. If none of the things you mention apply, then it's a positive test, nothing more.
