Define 'discourage'… Chicago FOP gag order

A judge in Chicago has ordered the Fraternal Order of Police President John Catanzara to stop discouraging the police force from getting the Wuflu shot.

The city of Chicago is now doing ‘counseling’ sessions to coerce officers to submit to the mandate–either they submit or be fired.  They are doing these offsite and without union representation.

The city of Chicago is shitting its pants at possibly losing half its force to their mandate and is requesting ‘help’ from nearby sheriffs offices.  Who are telling them to pound sand.

From what I’ve heard, the FOP is against the mandate the way that most unions are–it is something that was not negotiated.  So any work-related requirement has to go through the right process.  They don’t give a rat’s ass if someone gets it voluntarily.

The press is doing a full-on run on officers and the FOP both.  Using the same straw argument that officers have been on the front lines this whole time without the shot (and without protective equipment) but NOW they are a danger to the public if they don’t get it.  Doesn’t make any sense whatsoever.

It’s interesting that an editorial in the Sun Times was picked up as a full article by USA Today, word for word.

I’ll give you the executive summary: you all need to do what you’re told.  Give your private medical information to the city and can then just be tested twice a week until the end of the year, and then pony up for the shot or lose your job–it’s a now or later.

The city needs them in place over the holidays.  It’s not a safety issue, any more than it is for healthcare workers or anyone else.

Everyone is hearing only half the story since the FOP is gagged and Lightfoot and her lapdog press aren’t.

And the 1st Amendment is well and truly dead in Chicago.

  2. That is a way to open up a lot of slots for otherwise prohibited police officers, e.g. those with criminal convictions, or who are illiterate. Then they will have a Police Department that represents the “people”. That will be one more thing to complete the elimination of businesses and “normal” residents before they import the new replacement population drawn from the mass of “Illegals”. As in Compton, that new population will be likely to drive the existing ghetto population into the surround, where you now live. That is what the drive for firearms control and changes in residential zoning are all about. If the ghetto doesn't have a “safe” escape, they may resist moving out of the city and engage in a prolonged battle with the “Illegals”. That wouls harm the prospects for grift and profit.

  3. NFO–Good point.Mike-SMO–hadn't thought of that. I read an article about ghost-houses (not the Halloween kind) of people who have already moved out of Chicago, but hadn't put their property up for sale. There's going to be a huge crash if they hit all at once.
