 ‘Liz Cheney is the one person willing to speak her mind!’ said someone to me a little while ago.  She was treated poorly and punished for it, was the jist of the followup.  My response was a shortened version of the below.

Liz Cheney just discovered what the word ‘representative’ means in the clearest way possible.  

We elect people to go to Congress to represent our values and ideas.  That’s their job.  

The elected leadership of a party are supposed to represent the values of their membership, not their own.

If they don’t represent those values and ideas in their elected position, then they lose their job and someone else is put in their place who will do the job.  It’s truly that simple.  That’s why we hold elections–to ensure that our representatives are, well, representing…..

Liz Cheney is neither representing the wished or values of the people of Wyoming nor was she representing the wishes of the GOP in the House of Representatives.  She’s been censured by the GOP in Wyoming on both the state level and by half the counties and she was replaced as the GOP leader in the House. 

Her problem is that she became fixated on one thing:  Trump.  And that one thing kept her from doing her job or representing the GOP, which has changed over the course of the last few years.  The job of a leader is to unite your membership, not divide them and she wasn’t doing that job either.

She’s now talking even crazier though…  She actually thinks that she’s going to be in Congress after the midterms and has stated she’s not going to back McCarthy if the GOP takes the House of Representatives.

Sour grapes along with a little TDS goes a long way in making you a regular citizen again.
