 We now have a connection between the CDC and the Confucius Institutes.  For someone with my particular soapboxes, it was like hitting the lottery.

…During the briefing, a spokesperson from the group’s (Confucius Institute) U.S. headquarters inquires “if there is a space for nonprofits like ours to get involved and help either through translation or community outreach.” “The language and cultural competence of an organization like yours can be an asset to this type of response,” Schuchat asserts in response.

So this short exchange begs a few questions:

1) Why are Confucius Institutes–a foreign run body, nonprofits?

2) Why does the CDC think it’s a good idea to utilize a propaganda machine for the Chinese government to help with communication regarding the Wuhan virus?

3) Could this be why the CDC was sidelined at the beginning of the virus bruhaha?
