An interesting wrinkle…

So, governors are pulling back mandates, but aren’t killing off their ‘states of emergency’.  Anyone know why?

I do.

All of that money from the various CARES Acts and its other incarnations will only be disbursed to states that are maintaining their state of emergency (and are kowtowing to various federal whims (I’m not even calling them guidance or mandates anymore)).

Here in Indiana we have HRC 18. It ends the state of emergency, mask mandates, color coded county crap, etc.  It’s the nuclear option because it also takes away all of that funding–no emergency, no money.

We also have HR 1123 which puts a legislative stop on specific points of what the governor is doing.  He’s going to fight it probably via veto and then as a constitutional issue.  The new AG will fight this tooth and nail for the governor.

I say take the nuclear option and then fight the feds in court for the funding.  I’m calling House Leadership today (as many as I can) to put in my opinion.
