Now that the virus has done its work politically, I predict that the CDC and FDA will follow and surpass Florida’s lead regarding PCR testing. Florida has mandated that each test note the number of cycles it took to receive a positive result.
I figure Fed.gov will take it a step further and will mandate or strongly recommend that all labs use a 25 or 30 cycle protocol. That will drop the positivity rate immediately since right now there is no standardization for lab processing and most are testing until they get a positive rate.
Setting a protocol for all labs and setting it lower (thus making it more accurate by finding folks who really have active viral loads instead of old/dead ones) while there are increased shots (I refuse to call them vaccines since they aren’t), will create the illusion that the shots are effective.
