There’s a kitten rescue place in NYC that has decided that politics are more important than finding a safe loving home for cats and kittens. From hard experience, finding homes for wayward cats (I have one now for whom I am trying to find a good, loving home) is an exercise in pain and frustration even without a political agenda that would cut your prospects down to pretty close to zero.

Even PETA saw the lunacy.
PETA said rescues should focus on “objective animal welfare factors,” including an applicant’s history of animal care, ability to meet an animal’s needs and evidence of cruelty, neglect or violence.
“Shelters and rescues exist to protect animals, not to serve as political gatekeepers,” PETA said.
So they’d rather have people who believe that killing babies is okay take kittens instead of people who believe in the sanctity of life.
It’s NY so they probably won’t lose their charity status, but they should. I just worry about the fuzzballs already in their care since the State of New York folks love to kill helpless animals.
