It is alive–McConnell rises from the crypt

The zombie version of Mitch McConnell showed up on Capital Hill to cast a vote after being MIA for over three months.

Apparently the press wasn’t allowed to get anywhere close to him and he was in the Senate for a whopping 11 minutes.

In a statement, he indicated that he ‘suffered a fall’, although I’m pretty skeptical about that.

I’m still getting Weekend at Bernie’s vibes from the whole thing.

And, as an aside, where do I find a job where I can literally disappear for three months with no accountability to anyone and still be welcomed back?

    Yeah, they won’t give up their power until someone will pry it from their cold, dead fingers.

    Sorry, not sorry. He needs to go. And at least a dozen others. I counted 33 of the 100 senators were 70 or older. The median age is something like 64. I don’t know if an age cut-off is the right thing, but I do know that missing 3 months of work because of a “fall” is ridiculous and the governor of Kentucky should have forced the issue and appointed a replacement.

    Mitch “suffered from a fall”.
    And DiFi “had an attack of shingles”.
    McCain sat out in Arizona for months, swollen up like a poisoned pup, refusing to give up his seat, just for pure spite.

    I’m starting to have trouble believing these lying SOB’s.

    Don’t have to worry about the gmen anymore we know it’s not about or for us. No cures will be put in front of them either.
    An age limit seems like a plan but good luck with that as well. Thank you MWC.

    The good news is his term is up when the new CONgress is sworn in after the midterms and he had already announced that he would not run for election again. A reminder: there is nothing in the Constitution limiting a Senator’s or CONgress critter’s term due to illness or other incapacitation. I’m not saying it’s right, that’s just the way it is.

    Imagine if the 25th A was expanded to cover all federal elected offices.

    Half or more of current office holders would be immediately retired, especially after it was revealed how many are already taking anti-dementia drugs. Mad Maxine would be first on the list

    Our famous senator Strom Thurmond had assistants who would hold a mirror in front of his face to see if he could fog the glass with his breath before every vote

    Does inhabitant imply living? If not, I don’t see a requirement for congress critters to living, and they only have to be an inhabitant when chosen. Mind you, I didn’t care enough to read all of Article I of the constitution.

    The related trivia I enjoyed the most was DiFi was still voting in the senate when her daughter had her declared mentally unfit to manage her own finances.

    Some people are way to addicted to power and corruption.

    @Unferth – Well, if millions of dead people can miraculously vote Democrat, then surely it is only fair that dead Democrat congress critters and seniortors – sorry, I meant SENATORS – can continue to vote and hold office when they are, at a minimum, brain dead and receive their salaries and perks.

    You will be branded vitalophobic if you are not careful.
