I don’t care as long as the time changes stop….

Apparently the House of Representatives passed a bill ending the twice yearly clock changing that we all have had to deal with for our entire lives.

And this is a good thing.

So now it’s going to the Senate where we’ll see what happens.

Of course medical groups have to be a buzz-kill and want standard time. And some folks are still trying to use farmers to keep the stupid alive since they apparently don’t know that farm equipment is not now drawn by horses and also is equipped with lighting.

For my part, I like DST. I like having extra time after work to get stuff done. When I lived on the East Coast, with standard time, I walked to and from work in the dark. At least I would have walked home in the sunlight one way with daylight savings in place.

That said, don’t care as long as the time changes stop. I’ve always considered them to be a psy-op to keep the American public off balance anyway.

    If it’s a good thing, and people want it, Galactic Overlord Emperor Thune will put a stop to that foolishness, most ricky-tick.

    Let’s see, most people want illegal immigration stopped. Uh, still working on that.

    Most people want voter ID and election integrity. Nope.

    Most people want the US to stop meddling in the Middle East. Absolutely not gonna happen.

    And most people want DST ended. Pick one or the other and let’s just stop the clock changing forever. And, guess what. They’ll find some way to screw that up too.

    It’s amazing how the D’s and the R’s can never seem to align with the 80% on these 80/20 issues. It’s almost like we’re being ruled over by lizards or something.

    I agree. Just pick one. I prefer GST but it really doesn’t matter. Back before male menopause, I had a lifetime of migraines. It took me a week of headaches to adjust in either direction.

    I’m OK with the clock NOT changing twice a year, as long as they choose ST not DST. I wake up when the sky starts to get half bright in the morning. I’m also a night owl. Consequently, I’m awake by 5AM for three months in the summer. It makes me cranky.

      Not to ask a stupid question, but what difference would it have made if the clock said 6am instead of 5am?

    Forgot to add “What crazyeighter said.

    Thune needs to be removed from his leadership position. He’s the most obstructionist Majority leader I can remember, all because he doesn’t like Trump.

    The way he’s running things, you’d think that he and Schumer were bed mates or that Glitch McConnell was his Dad.

    In all probability, the deep state has something devastatingly harmful on him.

    Thune’s senate: where bills that a majority of voters want enacted go to die.

    We voted this as law in Florida. Daylight Saving Time year round. It was approved in the Florida Legislature, was SIGNED by the GOVERNOR.

    All it needed was congressional approval.

    Crickets…. For YEARS. Crickets……

    Somebody should knee cap the medical groups objecting. Whether standard time or daylight savings time is selected, people will adjust. Whatever they’re complaint is can be solved by changing the start/end time by an hour and forgetting about it. You’d think medical people would be brighter than that. Evidently not.

    Don’t care either way. It’s dark 20-23 hrs a day from Dec to Feb & it’s light from Apr to Aug. Why even bother wasting fed time on this & leave it to the states. Seems like no one has had an issue yet with Arizona keeping their own time.

    Permanent DST was tried in 1974. It was revoked months into a two-year trial. Kids were getting killed going to school in the dark, including 8 in Florida.

      HOur–I looked into this. It was at that time a political hot potato as it is now. Schools were also given the option to change their hours and several did. None of the deaths could be directly attributable to the time change, IMO. But of course those who want, for whatever reason, to keep changing the clocks will look up something from 1974, where there were not as many lights or lights were not as bright. Additionally Florida has already passed a law to make DST permanent, they’re just waiting on the feds to pull their heads out of their asses.

        I’d prefer standard time year round, rather than Daylight time. I’ll take year-round DST; it just isn’t my first choice. Getting rid of the time changes is more important to me.
