There’s always a frickin’ loophole

Indiana put the kibosh on the use of taxpayer dollars for the miscreants using them to buy sugary drinks and candies. And that, in theory, is awesome. Except that some of these folks are driving to different STATES to use their taxpayer EBT funds to buy those things.

Now bear in mind that Indiana does not share a border with Tennessee. You have to drive clear through Kentucky and even on the short side, it’s a couple of hours at best.

I don’t know where he’s getting the money for gas and since EBT is administered on the state level, a ban in one state would not carry over to another. So the taxpayers are still paying for this unless some serious interstate cooperation starts happening.

  1. When raiding the cookie jar in Ohio, stop by Uranus Fudge at two handy locations, Anderson Indiana and right at the state line on I-70.
