DEI lives at the University of Illinois

And they aren’t even bothering to hide it. Of course it is Illinois and Fatass Pritzker, the Anti-Trump, will throw down on anything that doesn’t make sense, so the U of I administrators are probably feeling like they are on safe ground.

The University of Illinois plans to rename its Office of Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in January, citing a “changing higher education landscape.”

However, Chancellor Charles Isbell told the university system in a Nov. 6 email that the mission of the office will not change.

“The office structure and name are changing,” Isbell wrote. “The mission of the office and our institutional commitment to supporting the success of our entire university community are not changing.”

So they’re trying to dodge around Trump’s policies and force a showdown over DEI stupidity. I have a feeling that they are going to be losing a lot of federal funding.

On the flip side, Trump seems to think that 600,000 Chinese students (a lot of U of I’s foreign student population and a running joke for people who grew up there) are a piping hot idea, so they might be okay.

    Kind of reminiscent of how many “new” cuts of beef we were presented with when Nixon froze wages and prices back in the day. Can’t raise the price on a Porterhouse? Call it something else and re-price it. It worked… but everybody knew exactly what was going on.

    Mr. Trump should very VERY seriously re-think anything involving Chinese “students” in-country right about now. Unless of course, the plan IS to keep very close eyes on them from the start… but I’m thinking the logistics on that is daunting.

    One comment I read on the Chinese students is that most universities around the country would go broke without all that yuan in their coffers, especially on the west coast and the hoity toity ivies.

    I’d just as soon not have them here stealing technology development and what ever else they’re doing in the espionage realm, like documenting ALL of our infrastructure with their cell phones as an adjunct of the spy balloon flyover under Bribem.

    Just when you think Trump’s go it nailed, he makes one of these kinds of decisions from out of the blue that make you go WTF over?

    boneman–Yes. Same thing. And a lot of universities will do anything to keep their precious DEI propaganda. I don’t know what’s up with the Chinese students though. Doesn’t make sense.

    Nemo–I have to disagree. It’s the large public universities that have most of the Chinese students. University of Michigan, U. of IL, etc. Mostly ones with large science programs or computer centers. The ivies don’t have the resources that the Chinese want to steal.

    CUT all federal funding, grants, & support to these institutions.
