  2. Wow! 11:22 EDT and I’m the first commenter or is it that MWC is busy with things other than approving comments? I mention it just because I find it highly unusual.

Anyway, Lotta good ones again for the trillionth time. Stole the two about the WH renovations. Hitlery should have learned to keep her pie hole shut by now.

She just can’t help continuously sticking her foot in it and she STILL think people are interested in what she has to say. Most are only interested to assist with shoving that foot down her throat.

She and Kamala make a good pair and probably should be running mates in ’28. Two self absorbed people in denial about their popularity with the electorate.

  4. WDS–Grandma is awesome! Talk about motivation. Happy Sunday to you too and you’re welcome!

Nemo–I actually don’t have the whole blog on moderate, just a few folks who have crossed the line. I too was surprised at the lack of comments this morning. Yeah, Hillary really just needs to shut it. She forgets that no one gives a crap since she now has no power.

Busted–Definitely love that one! She pulled no punches.

  5. Saw the no kings protest by me last week, the average age was about 70. I believe Monty Python would have refered to them as “Senile Delinquints”.

  6. Regarding the making a clock and telling the time. Dave Allen, an Irish comedian, has a skit on teaching your kids to tell the time:

    Confused? You will be …

And for our esteemed hostess, this one is safe for work except for one “bloody” which in America may be beyond the pale. >};o)

  7. MrHappy–That’s in line with what I saw as well! Monty Python was so spot on for so many things.

Phil–Very funny! And the word ‘bloody’ is okay. The only reason I noted the other one was due to Rule 5 content (which I don’t mind, but I don’t look at blogs on my work computer either). One thing I noted was the guy wore his watch on the inside of his wrist–my dad did the same thing.

  8. I identify as being very amused by these memes.

Also, there’s a new Fusion Restaurant in town. A Chinese – German place.

I ate there once and a half hour later, I was hungry for POWER.

    Please don’t block me.

Maybe not an appropriate comment. But, here goes. I believe that the 60 minute hour is an artifact of the Babylonian number system. Their number system, said to be better for dealing with astronomy, was centered on base 60. Each placeholder was a 1-59, not 1-10. Apparently, each placeholder used two symbols (1 and 10) to represent the value of the digit. The addition of a symbol for zero was a later innovation added to avoid confusion.

After all, 12, 24, 30, and 360 are commonly used in measuring time and is thought to be the reason that a circle has 360 degrees. And ancients were much more worried about calculating when to plant crops.

  10. Sorry for being so late, and no one will likely see this, but the best explanation I ever heard for our base 12/60 clock is:
Spread your left hand, palm up.
Using just the thumb of that hand, touch all the segments of each finger on that hand – you get to 12.
Now raise one finger on your right hand.
Repeat both steps, raising a second finger on your right hand.
    Repeat three more times.
You have now counted to 60, the highest number you can count on two hands.
And that’s why we use 12 hours (one hand) and 60 minutes/seconds (both hands).
