Harvard education worth it?

Harvard is doubling down on DEI. Not only are they offering a class on RuPaul’s Drag race, they are hiring a drag queen whose stage name is ‘LaWhore Vagistan‘ as a visiting professor to teach it.

According to Wikipedia (yeah I know but I’m not going to deep dive on this guy), he’s got a legit PhD from Northwestern.

According to the NY Post he’s also teaching a course on ‘Queer Ethnography’ and he does teach in drag.

Another Harvard visiting professor got arrested for shooting a pellet gun near a synagogue in Brookline, MA on the evening of Yom Kippur, breaking out a car window. He’s teaching in the Harvard Law School and is from Brazil where he has a ‘think tank’ that works on ESG and Social Justice. He’s on administrative leave from Harvard but that’s it.

Is there anyone out there who believes that a degree from Harvard is worth the parchment it’s printed on considering the people they hire?

  1. The education from Harvard, Yale, or any or the other Ivy League schools is secondary to the contacts you make. The ultra elite send their kids to these schools to network. The graduates will hire each other for their board of directors. Hire each other for overpaid CEO positions. They’ll support each other’s political careers. The drunken frat parties are not a distraction, they’re the main attraction.

  3. One of the wisest fellows I ever knew, a research scientist retired from Brookhaven National Lab who owned the bar where I ‘tended to support my college habit, told me that nothing I ‘learned’ at University would be at all applicable out in the real world. The whole point of going on to higher education, he claimed, was to learn how to learn.

He was right, of course, and my real education began on Day One as an intern at Warlabs, Inc. a Big Three defense contractor and my benevolent employer for 4 decades. It does not appear that today’s Uni grads have successfully learned how to learn, and if anything, they’ve been indoctrinated against such taboo teachings.

An open, curious mind is a terrible thing to waste.

  4. I’d love to go back to the 50s and tell the Harvard folks about this.
They’d lock me up in a loony bin, but it would still be funny.

  5. ..and along with hiring a tranny (I’m actually surprised it took them this long) the undergrads also play game “Hack Harvard”. Details below at the link. Some enterprising undergrad at U TX Dallas also revived Suckerberg’s Face Mash, the predecessor of u know what.

  7. I remember as a kid if someone said they had a PhD from Harvard you would automatically assume they were the smartest person in the room. Now if someone says they went to Harvard I think “ok, speak slowly and don’t use big words”

    Stefan–Ha!

Harbinger–And there is a lot of waste out there thanks to indoctrination over education.

Veeshir–They’d lock you up because they wouldn’t believe you. Now, you have to be a moron to not graduate with honors due to grade inflation. They’ll drag you over the finish line.

Nemo–It’s the first time that we’ve heard about…. And interesting on the HackHarvard thing.

    CWG–Same here.

WDS–Exactly. But if they are willing to pay for the name…
