Speedometer – had a car with a speedometer that went up to 125. Took it out one night on a deserted stretch of highway and the car was still accelerating when it hit the 125mph mark.

And having worked in Aerospace for 7 years… ACCURATE! A somewhat corollary observation, I put forth the following statement around the year 2002: “Given sufficient velocity, ANYTHING will fly!”
I have used Heinlein’s quote about the lazy innumerable times. It is so utterly accurate and totally irrefutable.
We won’t discuss how many times I have re-read the Outlander series of TOMES either. Book TEN (and the LAST) is due out soon. I’ll probably have to re-read one thru nine just as a “refresher” before it’s published. :-S
As to the disposition of toilet seats in the public Ladies’ Facilities… well… you could always have urinals installed… and for that observation, I do apologize.
Having JUST replaced the Boneyard’s washing machine… I think an entire collection of backup, “classic” and totally ANALOG appliances stored in the garage is a GOOD PLAN. The fridge was last year’s Computer Crash Case. 😐

Read Catch-22 at least 7 times while underway. Think I read Cat’s Cradle about that many times, too.
Loved Heinlein . . . AND Asimov . . . AND Clarke . . . AND Bradbury, but Heinlein lost me with Time Enough For Love.

Proximity bias is a very real, serious issue at Chez Harbinger. Beloved wife will not believe I know anything at all until she reads the exact same thing I just said in some anonymous post on Facebook, her go-to suppository for all knowledge of the universe and beyond.
