Jay–There was an episode of Star Trek: TNG where Capt Picard was being tortured. All he had to do was say that there were five lights when there were clearly four in order to make it stop. It was a takeoff from Orwell’s 1984 with the goal being that if you can make someone ‘admit’ to something that is clearly incorrect, then you gain power over them–you’ve broken them.
In the case of the meme, Picard thought there should be an extra ‘r’ for four whereas the answer was five.
