Something that has become crystal clear since the assassination of Charlie Kirk is that some people in this world are sick. Whether or not they are redeemable is another thing altogether.
The social contract has been broken for so long that some do not understand that celebrating the death of someone, even if you did not agree with them, is wrong and morally reprehensible. They’ve been allowed to push boundaries for so long that their worldview is taking a beating once those boundaries are enforced.
And now there is accountability, especially for teachers and those in positions of responsibility. Because if they would say those things openly, how much worse is it when they are in a classroom? Or, in the case of public employees, when they are called upon to do their jobs impartially?
What’s especially frightening is that so many of their talking points are based on cherry picked videos or information that has been skewed.
No, Charlie Kirk never called on gays to be stoned. The conversation where he referenced Leviticus was talking about the dangers of cherry picking Scripture. Even Stephen King figured that one out when he bothered to look.
We’re tired of projection from the left–being called fascists and Nazis (dictionaries could be their friends). The Southern Poverty Law Center had tagged Turning Point USA as a ‘hate group’.
So now, accountability for ones’ actions. It’s called being an adult and adhering to the social contract. And if spouting hate gets a teacher fired then it’s one less person bringing their politics to the classroom.
